Cindy R Herde, M.A., CCC-SLP, CLC, CKTP
Born and raised in Aruba, Cindy brings a rich cultural heritage and fluency in four languages to her professional journey. With a master’s degree from the University of Central Florida, she’s traversed the United States, gaining invaluable experience in Boston, MA, and Chicago, IL, before finding her professional home in sunny Miami, FL, alongside her supportive family. Throughout her career, Cindy has had the privilege of collaborating with extensive pediatric medical teams, standing shoulder to shoulder with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, and many other healthcare professionals, all dedicated to the well-being of children. Guiding families through the feeding journey has been a highlight of her career, alongside advocating for those whose primary language is not English.
The transformative experience of becoming a parent in 2015 ignited Cindy’s passion for pediatric care, inspiring a deep sense of empathy and a focus on educating families and colleagues alike. With over 16 years of experience and the unwavering support of her loved ones, she embarked on an innovative approach to therapy – one that is focussed on education of feeding and swallowing development in chidlren.
Currently, Cindy serves as a clinical specialist at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and holds an adjunct professorship in Dysphagia at Carlos Albizu University where she teaches Dysphagia in Children and Adults. She is also a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner and a Certified Lactation Counselor. Additionally, she is currently pursuing her SLPD program at MGH IHP, furthering her commitment to excellence in speech-language pathology.
